UAE Closes Down All Places Of Worship For Four Weeks Due To Coronavirus Fears
Taking a precautionary measure to counter coronavirus, United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s authorities have decided to suspend prayers in all houses of worship across the country for a period of four weeks.

UAE’s emergency crisis and disaster management authority along with the Islamic affairs & endowments authority, and other religious bodies decided the suspension of prayers in mosques, churches, and other places of worship in the country.

“The decision to suspend the prayers across the country will be reviewed after four weeks,” a statement on state-run news agency WAM read. The step was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of people and avoid the spread of COVID-19.

According to UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention, the authorities have conducted 125,000 tests to detect coronavirus. To date, the UAE has had 98 cases of coronavirus with 26 recoveries.

In view of other Muslim countries' precautionary measure to counter coronavirus, Pakistanis on social media are urging the government authorities to do the same in the country.
