Syria-Returned Man Tests Positive For Coronavirus; Bringing Pakistan's Total Number Of Cases To 8

With the return of a man from Syria who tested positive for Coronavirus, the number of cases in Sindh has gone up to 5. It also brings the total number of Coronavirus cases in the country is now at 8.


Health authorities in Sindh have described the latest patient as a 53-year-old resident of Karachi who flew back to Pakistan from Syria via Qatar. Measures taken by authorities include a quarantine of all people who he since came into contact with.


Of Pakistan's 8 Coronavirus cases, 6 are individuals who had been to Iran recently.


Concerns about Coronavirus in Pakistan are heightened since the country is located geographically between China, the epicentre of the outbreak, and Iran, a country significantly affected by the virus.
