Police Constable Hassan Shahzad lost his life in an accidental discharge of his pistol, allegedly at the hands of a woman who was recording a TikTok video. Reports indicate that the three suspects involved consisted of one male and two female acquaintances of the constable. The latter two were students of the University of Gujrat.
While recording a TikTok video, one of the women took the constable's pistol without permission and began playing with it – despite his efforts to dissuade her. In this process, the pistol went off and a bullet struck the constable.
The three companions then fled the scene, leaving his car at the scene and boarding a bus to escape. They were, however, apprehended and arrested. A case has now been registered against them under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
