PM's Special Assistant Dr Zafar Under Investigation For Smuggling Coronavirus Masks
Prime Minister Imran Khan's Special Assistant on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza has been accused of smuggling anti-Coronavirus N-95 masks. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an inquiry into the allegations of the PM's assistant smuggling 2 crore face masks abroad.

The additional director general of FIA has asked the agency's director (north) Islamabad to present an inquiry report within 15 days. According to reports, Young Pharmacists Association had called on the FIA to probe the matter, accusing Dr Zafar of involvement in smuggling of the anti-coronavirus face masks. The association also alleged that the smuggling took place with the Deputy Director DRAP.

Last month, the cost of the surgical mask to prevent coronavirus had surged by more than 1,000 percent, just a day after two cases of novel coronavirus were reported in Pakistan.

A packet of surgical masks were being sold at Rs 1,000 in the market as the profiteers had bought the N-95 masks and stocked them up so that when an opportunity discloses, they will make a good fortune out of it.

The government had subsequently launched action against those profiteering from the coronavirus fears.
