Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan has demanded an investigation into Aurat March, terming the slogan ‘mera jism meri marzi’ (my body, my choice) as obscene.

According to a news report published in DAWN, Mushahidullah Khan in his speech in senate demanded an investigation of Aurat March's organisers. The senator said he wasn't against any march, questioning "which man will allow his mother or sister to go and do this on the streets?"

Mushahidullah even termed the slogan ‘mera jism, meri marzi’ as obscene. He categorically said that the House must not allow this slogan to be raised.

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) senator Mushtaq Ahmad while talking about Khalil-ur-Rehaman controversy said women's rights should not be turned into a ‘gender clash’. He said "if Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has said something inappropriate, we condemn it; we also condemn ‘mera jism, meri marzi’. The senator added that the ‘values’ of society should not be targeted for the sake of women ‘independence’.

PTI Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said that the Aurat March organisers should not bring West’s doctrines in the country. "We know who has authority over our bodies," he added.

The parliamentarians were discussing scriptwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s abusive outburst against activist and journalist Marvi Sirmed on live TV. Rehman went on to abuse the woman activist during a discussion about the slogan ‘mer jism, meri marzi’ of the Aurat March.
