PM Imran Says No Lockdown Needed In Pakistan, Coronavirus Situation Not Serious
Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his address to the nation, has said that the government is closely monitoring the situation developed in the wake of outbreak of coronavirus in the country. He said that the survival rate for coronavirus patients was 97 per cent, and the situation in Pakistan is less severe than in other countries like Italy and Iran.

He added that a lockdown is not needed in Pakistan because shutting down the cities would affect the country's economy and increase poverty. "We closed educational institutions and public gatherings and formed a national coordination committee which is in touch with all chief ministers and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). We tasked the NDMA to order face masks and ventilators which we would need if the outbreak worsens", the PM added.

Khan further said that the disease is spreading even in countries with better healthcare system than ours.
