Maria B Says Army Facilitated Her Husband's Release, Expresses Gratitude
Fashion designer Maria B whose husband was arrested by Punjab police has said that he was released after government and Pakistan Army intervened in the matter. "I want to thank the prime minister [for facilitating the release]", she said. She went on to say that she wants to thank the army because, "had the army, which is in-charge right now, not stepped in, we wouldn't have gotten relief from the police."

A video message by the designer went viral earlier today where she claimed that the police raided her home and arrested her husband who was tested positive for coronavirus.

However, in the new video, Maria does not mention her husband being a patient of the virus. In the fresh video, Maria's husband also condemned the police for 'raiding' their house and termed his arrest an act of harassment.

He further said that on one hand the PM was asking public not to panic over coronavirus, while on the other, the police are acting out of panic.

Maria has accused the police of mistreatment, but some reports suggest the arrest was made because Maria B concealed the information about one of his house helpers who was tested positive for coronavirus. Instead of placing him in isolation or informing the authorities, the domestic worker was sent to his village via public transport, thereby endangering several lives.
