Jamia Hafsa Students Confess To Vandalising Aurat March Mural In Islamabad
Students from Jamia Hafsa have confessed to defacing an Aurat March mural in Islamabad on Tuesday. A statement by students of the Jamia Hafsa claimed responsibility for vandalising the mural despite a Lal Masjid cleric's earlier denial of their involvement in the incident.

Meanwhile, two complaints filed with the city administration have opposed the march and urged the administration to stop it. Um-e-Hassan, the wife of Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, has also said that they would try to stop the march. In a video posted on social media, the extremist cleric's wife announced that they would 'launch a counter protest' on 8 March called the 'haya march'.

According to a report in Dawn newspaper, a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Mohammad Tariq expressed confidence that the capital administration would stop the Aurat Azadi March in Islamabad, which is set to take place on March 8.
He said that if the Aurat March takes place, they will also come out on the streets to 'tell them what the true colour of Islam and Pakistani culture is'.

Another religious party Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced that they would hold their own 'Aurat March' at the same venue as the Aurat Azadi March in Islamabad.

The students stated that stopping 'conspiracy to spread obscenity' in the country was their religious duty, urging the citizens of Islamabad to forcibly stop the march by making sure the marchers don't enter their localities.
