Hundreds Of Citizens Defy Ban On Friday Prayers In Karachi
Several people defied the ban on mass prayers and came to the New Memon Masjd in Karachi to offer Friday prayers. Videos from the area have gone viral on social media where a police official is asking people to pray at home as per the government's orders, to no avail. The people who were adamant on entering the mosque to offer the Friday prayers eventually managed to get in.

The Express Tribune reported that over one hundred people at the said mosque offered their prayers despite clear orders from the provincial government against Friday congregations.

Sindh was the first province to place a ban on Friday prayers and restrict congregations and other provinces also followed suit. However, the authorities' failure to enforce the ban raises concerns on the overall effectiveness of the decision.
