Hamza Shehbaz Fears Prisoners At 'Deadly Risk' Of Getting Coronavirus, Seeks Bail
Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz has requested the Lahore High Court (LHC) to grant him bail citing 'potentially deadly risk' for prisoners amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Hamza moved the court through his lawyers and maintained that the coronavirus crisis had resulted in an alarming situation in the country and across the world. In the appeal, he says that the congested space inside a jail makes implementation of the social distancing rule almost impossible. "In case of an outbreak, the inmates are vulnerable and likely to suffer irreparably", he said.
The petition further says that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Hamza ten months ago but did not file any reference against him.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is holding probe into two different cases of corruption against the PML-N politician. The request for bail was submitted in a case pertaining to the accumulation of assets beyond means.

The PML-N leader has already been granted post-arrest bail on February 6 in a case about alleged misuse of a grant of Rs360 million released by the Punjab government in 2015 to launch a drainage scheme for the Chiniot district.
