Coronavirus Alert: Punjab Govt Announces Closure Of Educational Institutions, Marriage Halls
The Punjab government has announced a number of steps in light of the prevailing situation of Coronavirus cases in the country. All education institutions in the province have been closed with immediate effect and all exams being conducted would be postponed.
In the wake of impeding #coronavirus alert, following decisions are hereby made for strict compliance, for next 3 weeks, by all concerned:
1) All Educational institutions shall remain closed, with immediate effect
2) All examinations being conducted shall remain postponed

Marriages and banquet halls have also been shut down and ‘religious congregations’ have also been cancelled. The government’s statement further says that cultural activities in the province will also remain suspended.
Other provinces have also taken emergency measures against Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier today, Pakistan’s first case of coronavirus, in which the virus was transmitted within the country was reported in Karachi. The 52-year-old patient, who tested positive for novel coronavirus has no international travel history.
The patient traveled from Islamabad to Karachi two days ago where he has been diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus.
