Community Infected From Contact With Pakistan's First Covid-19 Casualty After Return From Saudi Arabia

The first person in Pakistan to have lost his life at the hands of the Covid-19 pandemic appears to have infected at least five other people from his community. Saadat Khan, 50, contracted the virus and returned to Mardan, Pakistan, from his Umrah trip in Saudi Arabia.

After his return, he had contact with a number of family and friends. Test results indicate that his son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and two friends all caught the virus via the late Saadat Khan. The 50-year-old worked as a dispenser and passed away on Wednesday at the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC).

The neighbourhood of Saadat Khan, in Mardan's Union Council, has been under lockdown, which the Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has described as a necessary measure.
