A gang of rapists sexually assaulted a teenage girl in the Gulberg Colony of Kasur, and filmed the crime to blackmail her. The men continuously sexually assaulted the victims for three months, according to the local police.
One of the three accused were arrested and the other two have been name in the case registered against the sexual assault. According to police, the primary suspect has also been identified.
The police officials further told media that a first information report (FIR) had been registered on behalf of his father. The FIR stated that the suspects continuously raped and filmed the girl and later used the recording to blackmail her.
On Monday, the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights okayed some amendments to the Zainab Alert Bill that will be presented in the Upper House for approval on March 2.
Committee Chairperson Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar had stated that child abuse cases would be heard by special courts after the bill was passed in the Senate. He also said that it would be implemented across the country unlike the earlier version, which was applicable only in Islamabad.
