Ishaq Dar Terms Conversion Of His House To Shelter Home Contempt Of Court
Former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League -N (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar has rejected the Punjab government’s decision to turn his house in Lahore to shelter house for the homeless, terming it contempt of court.

In a video message released on social media, the self-exiled politician said that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on January 27 ordered the government not to auction his house. “After they failed to auction it, it has been turned into a shelter home”, he said, adding that he would move the IHC against the government and seek contempt of court proceedings against them for ignoring the court order.

Dar further said that the action was done on the basis of the court decision that termed him an absconder but decision itself was illegal. “My appeal against the verdict terming me an absconder is pending in the Supeme Court,” he said, and added that the corruption allegations against him are false and based on mala fide intentions.

On Thursday, the Punjab government had converted Ishaq Dar’s house in Lahore to a shelter home for the homeless, much to the appreciation of the ruling party’s supporters on social media.
