Home Of Indian 19-Year-Old Who Raised 'Pakistan Zindabad' Slogan Attacked

After 19-year-old Amulya Leona Noronha raised slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' (Long Live Pakistan) at a public event in Bengaluru and was taken into police custody under charges of sedition, her home was attacked by unidentified individuals.

The attackers threw stones at her house, breaking its windows. This led to police deployment at the scene.

Amulya Leona Noronha began raising slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and subsequently 'Hindustan Zindabad' after being invited to address an event against the CAA legislation. On hearing her slogan for Pakistan, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi intervened to prevent her from continuing the use of the microphone. She was eventually dragged off by male police officers after unsuccessfully attempting to explain her position to the audience.

Having been charged with sedition, she is now under judicial remand for 14 days.
