Govt Surrenders To Maulana Abdul Aziz, Allows Him To Lead Jumma Prayers
The government has surrendered to extremist cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, ending the two-week long siege of Lal Masjid and allowing him to lead Jumma prayer today.

The authorities of the capital city brought an end to the siege of Lal Masjid on Friday, after which hundreds of people offered Jumma prayer behind Maulana Abdul Aziz.

Interior Ministry’s official told Naya Daur, that the ministry had expressed anger on capital city’s authorities for not handling the situation in an efficient manner, Moreover, the Federal government has decided to reshuffle Islamabad’ administration.

The official further revealed that the officers responsible for this embarrassing situation would be transferred.

Maulana Abdul Aziz, while giving a speech in the premises of Lal Masjid on Thursday, said “I want to come out, but female students, who have given the responsibilities of security are not allowing me to leave the mosque.”

On Thursday, the students of Lal Majid offered prayer on main road outside the mosque, the students were requesting everyone to record their videos and post them on social media platforms. The walls of Lal Masjid were surrounded by female students, whom were raising slogans loudly, that recalled the memories of Lal Masjid 2007 Operation.

Almost all the female students were using Facebook and WhatsApp to inform people about the current situation of Lal Masjid. When questioned as to why the students were standing on the roof of the mosque, a student said that they had gathered stones to throw on the police officials, if they dared to come in and arrest their leader Maulana Aziz.
