Gomal University’s Islamic department head Maulana Salahuddin has been arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime cell for allegedly sexually harassing female students.
A number of female students of Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan have alleged that Professor Salahuddin used to harass them at a local farm house, while threatening that he would fail them in exams. The students further revealed that university administration had been trying to cover this case, since long.
While taking action on students’ complaints, FIA’s team arrested the professor on Monday under sexual harassment charges. Later university administration also suspended Salahuddin as head of Islamic department.
Meanwhile, sources have claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman Khan has suspended the registrar and Director Administration of Gomal University Dilnawaz Khan.
