Former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan, whose unverified audio clip claiming he has escaped is doing the rounds on social media, has told The News that he has escaped to Turkey.
The News quoted Ehsanullah Ehsan as saying that he has arrived in Turkey along with his family. He refused to comment on how he managed to escape from the custody of the Pakistani authorities and move to another country.
“I can’t tell you more but I can tell you that I am in Turkey at the moment along with my wife, son and daughter. Don’t ask me how I reached here as I can’t tell you right now,” the report quotes him.
On Thursday, an unverified audio recording of the former Taliban spokesman surfaced on social media. The man claiming to be Ehsanullah Ehsan said that he had escaped from the custody of Pakistani authorities along with his family “with the help of Allah”.
