Ehsanullah Ehsan Escaped From Custody During Anti-Terror Operation: Report
A spokesman for a group of terrorists involved in a number of violent attacks in Pakistan has escaped from the custody of security forces, the Express Tribune reported on Friday. This comes a day after an unverified audio clip of him appeared on social media.

The report quotes sources as saying that Ehsanullah Ehsan, the former spokesman for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), made his escape while an operation against terrorists was being conducted on the basis of a tip-off given by Ehsan.
Ehsanullah Ehsan had surrendered before the Pakistani authorities in February 2017 and remained in their custody ever since.

The sources also claimed that he had started sharing sensitive information with the authorities way before his surrender.

On Thursday, an audio clip of a man claiming to be Ehsanullah Ehsan started doing the rounds on social media after it was shared by a New York Times journalist Tipu Mehsud. In the audio, the man claiming to be the former TTP chief said he had escaped from the custody of Pakistani institutions 'with Allah's help'.
