Edhi Foundation Asks Foreign Minister's Permission To Bring Pakistani Students Home From Wuhan

The Edhi Foundation has written to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, asking for permission to bring Pakistani students home from Wuhan, China. So far, it has been impossible to evacuate Pakistani students from the Chinese city where the Coronavirus has claimed hundreds of lives.

According to Dawn, the letter sent to the Foreign Minister reflects the views of Faisal Edhi on the possibility of helping Pakistanis stranded in the Chinese city. The letter refers to the stress and food shortage experienced by the Pakistani students and points out that most of them are not infected by the virus. They can be safely brought home, the letter claims.

The Edhi Foundation cites the examples of several other countries which have successfully brought home their citizens from the Chinese city, which is at the epicentre of the Coronavirus outbreak.
