Women Democratic Front Demands Release Of Islamabad Protestors

Women Democratic Front (WDF) has issued a press release condemning the arrest of PTM activists including MNA Mohsin Dawar, who were protesting against the arrest of PTM founding leader Manzoor Pashteen.

The press statement said, “we witnessed a sharp increase in the barbarism of the state as our comrades protesting for the release of PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen were framed under trumped up charges. We categorically condemn this barbarism and demand the immediate withdrawal of the fabricated cases in which our comrades have been booked.”

WDF has demanded the immediate release of PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen, Awami Workers Party Punjab President Ammar Rashid, and all other PTM members. “We further condemn the attitude of the Islamabad cops towards our comrades. WDF leaders Ismat Shahjehan, Maria Malik and Muneeba Hafeez suffered injuries during this highhandedness,” the statement read.

Earlier the Women Democratic Front has organised a joint protest with the Awami Workers Party outside Lahore Press Club. A number of other groups also joined the protest to demand the release and dropping of all charges, including Aurat March, Lahore Left Front, Progressive Students Collective, and International Marxist Tendency.
