A woman who had been declared was found to be alive while she was receiving her funeral bath.
According to a report in Express Tribune, a 50-year-old woman, Rasheeda Bibi, was shifted to a public hospital, and was pronounced dead. Doctors also issued her death certificate.
The woman’s daughter-in-law told media that her body had been in the morgue for 20 minutes and then she was given a funeral bath.
She added that a woman present with Rasheeda noticed that her limbs were moving. Rasheeda’s relatives checked her pulse and found out that she was alive.
The woman has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. In 2015, a similar incident occurred at an Edhi mortuary, when a pregnant woman, who was being prepared for burial, sat up and started reciting the Kalma.
