Twitterati Pay Tribute To 'Braveheart' Aitzaz Hasan On Sixth Death Anniversary
Today marks the sixth death anniversary of Pashtun student Aitzaz Hasan Bangash, who lost his life while trying to prevent a suicide bomber from entering his school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district.

On this day six years ago, Aitzaz reached school late, and was not allowed to enter the premises. He was standing outside when a young man approached them and questioned them about admission procedures. It was during the conversation that Aitzaz’s classmates spotted a detonator and ran outside. Aitzaz stood his ground and hugged the bomber, who then detonated his vest.

For his bravery, he was hailed as a hero and a martyr, and was awarded the Nishaan-e-Shujaat, a civilian award for acts of gallantry.

As his brave act and martyrdom marks six years today, people took to Twitter to pay tribute to him. Journalist Nadeem Farooq Paracha narrated how Aitzaz saved the lives of 2000 students present inside this school.
