While addressing the National Assembly session on Thursday, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) - linked MNA Mohsin Dawar has questioned as to who is running the country. “Defence Minister Pervez Khattak had offered negotiations with PTM, and just after two days of that proposal, police arrested Maznoor Pashteen.”
Moshsin Dawar further stated that Defence Minister Pervez Khattak had offered them to have table talks with government but just after two days of that offer, police arrested PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen.”
While talking about the perception that PTM is working on ‘foreign agenda’, Mohsin said we must stop this process of declaring politicians ‘traitor’ otherwise a time will come, when everyone except some government officials will be a traitor.
“Many politicians who struggled for democracy and rule of constitution such as Fatima Jinnah, Bacha Khan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Wali Khan, and G.M. Syed were declared ‘traitor’ by those who are calling us traitors today. However, there is only one traitor convicted by court, and that is retired Gen Pervaiz Musharraf,’’ said MNA on the floor of the House.
Mohsin Dawar, along with 28 other protestors was arrested on Tuesday, while protesting the arrest of PTM Chief Manzoor Pashteen, outside Islamabad Press Club. Mohsin Dawar and other protestors were later released after midnight but a number of activists are still under custody and have been charged with sedition.
