Sindh Human Rights Department Secretary General Dr Badar Jamil Mandhro has been missing since Friday evening, leading to fears that he had been abducted.

According to a report in Express Tribune, Badar’s brother, Javed Mandhro, has said that Badar left his house for work on Friday and has not been in touch since then. He added that no one had been able to contact him or his driver.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the matter and has called for Sindh Inspector General of Police Dr Syed Kaleem Imam and Anti-Corruption Establishment Chairman Muhammad Waseem to submit a report regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, police is currently investigating the matter. Murad Ali Shah has also directed state institutions to inform authorities if they have taken the rights advocate into custody.

The National Accountability Bureau is currently investigating Badar Jamil for allegedly illegal selling land that caused losses to the national exchequer.
