‘PM Helpless In Front Of IMF’s Viceroy Hafeez Shaikh’, Social Media Reacts To Fuel Price Hike
After approving the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the government has increased the fuel prices for January to Rs116.60 with a rise of Rs2.61 per litre.
The finance ministry issued a notification in this regard, which also stated that the price of High-Speed Diesel had been increased to Rs127.26. Meanwhile, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, has been increased by Rs23.54 per kg, with the new price being Rs151.82 per kg.
Moreover, the price of Light Diesel Oil has also been increased, with a rise of Rs2.08 which took the price to Rs84.51 per litre.
People took to social media to voice their resentment over the rise in prices. One user, while wishing people a happy new year, said this was a naya and handsome Pakistan.
The price of diesel has been hiked by Rs2.25 and kerosene by Rs3.10 per litre.

One user stated that ‘prime minister select’ was helpless in face of this decision by the ‘viceroy’ of IMF by Dr Hafeez Shaikh.

One user opined that how prices were being increased by the PTI government was similar to the behaviour of the previous governments.
@ImranKhanPTI Imran Khan n his cabinet members are increasing prices of petrol etc n electricity every month in same old manner as previous government used to do. Poor Pakistani is badly effected. Shame for PTI government.
