NA's Cable Transmission Cut During Voting On Bills Formalising Tenures Of Services Chiefs
Transmission from the National Assembly was cut as lawmakers met to vote on the amendment bills pertaining to the tenures of services chiefs.

The National Assembly today approved three bills formalising the tenure of the three services chiefs. Prime Minister Imran Khan was present and the bills were approved by a majority of the members.

According to journalist Inamullah Khattak, before the session began, cable transmission from the parliament was cut off so that the session could not be broadcast live.

Meanwhile, the PPP withdrew the amendments it had proposed to the bill while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had its maximum number of lawmakers present.

The bill faced dissent from some opposition MNAs, including those from Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami, who staged a walkout. Meanwhile, lawmakers from Waziristan, Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir tore up copies of the bill.
