Khurram Dastagir Says A Late Night Development Resulted In Opposition Parties Supporting Army Act
Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML) MNA Khurram Dastagir Khan has said that a last minute development that may have taken place at midnight resulted in the opposition parties withdrawing their decision to introduce amendments to the Army Act Amendment. He stopped short of telling as to what the development was.

In response to a question about the opposition parties being pressured by the establishment to support the bills related to tenures of services chiefs during a session of Afkar-e-Taza Think Fest held in Lahore on Saturday, the PML-N leader said that the PML-N and PPP were busy preparing their amendments in the parliament when a government delegation came to the room where the meeting was being held. The meeting with the government delegation ended at 12 AM but the parties had not decided against presenting the amendments, he said.

"But when the parliament's session began in the morning, PPP withdrew its amendments and PML-N didn't come up with any objection to the Army Act either", he said, adding that something must have happened behind closed doors which prompted the parties to support the government.
