Karachi University Issued A Draconian Code Of Conduct For Students
On January 1st, Karachi University has issued a code of conduct for its students that includes regulation in many spheres. Journalist Arshad Yousafzai shared an image of the code on Twitter.

The code states social media activities of the students should be in accordance with ethical norms.

The code further says that students cannot raise slogans or take part in activities that are against the ideology of Islam, national security and integrity.

Furthermore, the students are prohibited from interfering or questioning the administration of the university. Posters and wall chalking need to be avoided, the regulation added.

Events on campus will not be held without permission of the administration, the code says.

This regulation comes in the wake of increasing student mobilisation seen in the last few weeks. The Students Solidarity March was also criticised by many quarters. A few student leaders were booked in cases and one student Alamgir Khan Wazir was arrested and remains in custody of law enforcement agencies.
