Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has announced his decision to quit the federal cabinet, according to a report by Geo News.

He made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Karachi accompanied by senior Muttahida Quami Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) party leaders in Karachi. He said that it was useless to be in the government because the MQM-P is 'passing through a new phase'.

The MQM leader reportedly also said that the 2018 general elections were rigged to bring PTI into power.
