Government Can Provide Skills Not Jobs To People, Says PM Imran
Hunarmand Pakistan Programme will help train 500,000 young persons, and hundreds of training centres will be created to achieve this purpose, announced prime minister Imran Khan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government cannot provide jobs to the people, as it can only provide the education and skills in order to create opportunities for the youth to progress.

While speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Hunarmand Pakistan Programme, he said that in the life of every person, institution, team, there were ups and downs. He said that it was only in fairy tales that the concept of living ‘happily ever after’ existed, he adding that in real life, one could only ‘live happily ever after’ in the grave.

He further spoke of the need to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state like that established by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 1400 years ago in Madina.

He added that the foremost responsibility of the government was looking after the lower classes, adding that beyond that the government’s responsibility was providing houses to the citizens.

He also spoke of his plans to restart sick industries, further saying that the government would be spending money on education, health and technical training.

Editors' note: This story was updated at 10 p.m. due to the intense trolling and hateful commentary on social media. The intent of the story was to highlight that governments are no longer providing jobs and we support this stance. But the avid followers of PM Khan thought that we were undermining the PM and his vision. We are not going to apologise but since we are a digital portal we are responding to public feedback.
