Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has moved the Supreme Court (SC) against the Islamabad High Court's decision of declaring Akbar S. Babar a part of the ruling party and sending the case pertaining to the party's foreign funding back to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The case has been pending since 2014. Earlier, it had been presented to the ECP. However, the ruling party submitted the petition to the IHC, questioning the ECP's jurisdiction in the matter.
In February 2017, the IHC had remanded it back to the ECP for a fresh review of its jurisdiction, declaring Akbar S Babar a part of PTI.
