Federal Minister for Science Fawad Chaudhry has once again justified his recent act of slapping journalist Mubashir Lucman at a wedding.
While addressing a session at the Afkar-e-Taza Think fest in Lahore, he condemned the culture of ‘Youtube journalism’ when asked about the incident by the moderator. He said that Lucman had alleged on his Youtube channel that he had a compromised video of Fawad's with a woman. “When I met him at the event and asked him where that video was, he laughed it off. Didn't he deserve slapping for such an action”, he asked the audience.
The minister further said that Pakistan’s libel laws are not strong enough and until we don’t have a strong defamation law in place, slapping such individuals for defamation should be allowed.
