A cleric, identified as Ghasr Ali has been arrested by Rawalpindi police for alleged involvement in sexually assaulting of 10-year-old girl at the madrassa.
A few weeks ago, cleric Shamsuddin was arrested for raping a 10-year-old boy around 100 times.
After the protests and outrage of the incident of Zainab Ansari rape and murder, the National Assembly on Friday has approved the Zainab Alert, Recovery and Response Bill 2019. According to the bill, action will be taken against police officials for causing unnecessary delays or failing to respond to such cases of rape and sexual assault.

The bill proposes a maximum of life sentence along with Rs 1 million in fines for the convicts of child sexual abuse. The minimum sentence is 10 years. The bill has also proposed launching a helpline to report missing children and an agency to issue alert.
