Stop Muzzling Youth's Opinions, Shehbaz Tells Govt
Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the government should not muzzle their opinions and register first information reports (FIR) against them.

In a tweet posted from his official account, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president stated that engaging the youth and students was what the government must be doing instead of muzzling their opinion.

He added that the nation's future hinged on the youth and their voices must be respected and their demands paid attention to.

The tweet comes days after students across the country held the Students Solidarity March to demand greater academic and political rights.

The tweet also follows the detention of Pashtun student activist Alamgir Wazir, who was detained a day after making a fiery speech at the Students Solidarity March.

Following the march, activists and organisers also had FIRs registered against them, which included charges of sedition.

On Monday, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah had advised authorities to restore student unions and remove the ban placed on them since more than three decades.
