PIA To Run Special Flight To Bring Home Pakistanis Stranded In Malaysia

The Pakistan International Airlines will be operating a special flight to bring home Pakistanis stranded in Malaysia on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

PIA revealed through a tweet that in line with the instructions of PM Imran, the organisation’s CEO had dedicated a special flight to bring home 300 Pakistanis from Kuala Lumpur.

The national air carrier also said that it was their tradition to step forward in time of national need.

Recently, Prime Minister Imran Khan cancelled his visit to Malaysia to attend the Kuala Lumpur summit. The visit had been cancelled following a meeting between the prime minister and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan had later stated that PM Imran did not attend the summit as Saudi Arabia had engaged in economic blackmail to coerce Pakistan into not taking part. Erdogan had said that Saudi Arabia had threatened to withdraw $6 billion that it had deposited in Pakistan’s central bank and warned of more economic sanctions in case it attended the event.
