'People Who Play With Fire Can Get Burned': Fawad Chaudhry Criticises Judges After Detailed Verdict

Islamabad

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, while reacting to the detailed verdict in the Musharraf treason case, has said that people who play with fire can get burned.

While talking to media after the detailed verdict, Fawad maintained that following the restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry, some people with 'questionable' knowledge and credibility had become judges. He added that they lacked the capability to select words or issue statements.

The federal minister stated that people who attempted to play with fire should know that they could get burned.

The detailed verdict in the high treason case against General Musharraf was released today. The special court bench which heard the case maintained that Musharraf had been given more than his due share of fair trial and was provided every opportunity to defend himself.

One of the judges had added that if Musharraf died before receiving punishment, his corpse should be dragged to D-Chowk and hung there for three days. The judge’s comment had been condemned on social media, with people calling out the severity of the judgement while calling it shameful and inappropriate.
