  • 269

A minor girl was stoned to death in Dadu between the night of 21st and 22nd November.

The girl, Sanam Gul, was stoned to death after the decision of a jirga (village council) that declared her a ‘Kari’. This tragedy took place the Wahi Pandhi, in the area of Johi in district Dadu.

According to reports, the police in the area have arrested her father, a relative and four others and booked an FIR under sections 302, 201, 120-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The father and others claim that they girl died due to a landside but the police claim that the death was because of stoning. They are still collecting evidence to prove the same.

In light of the news, social media went on to lay blame on the son of a PTI official, Sardar Yar Mohammed Rind, who is also the head of the PTI’s Baloch chapter and asked for them to be brought to accountability.

Pakistan has constantly been ranked as one of the worst countries for women and this harrowing news further adds to that narrative.

Government must take action against such barbarism.
You bash Israel but this would never happen there.
You bash Jews but Jews don’t act this way.
Something wrong with your whole philosophy of life.
