LWMC Failing To Keep Lahore Clean

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is struggling to keep the city clean after the Turkish companies that are hired by the LWMC stopped working.

Over the past five days, the companies did not work as they said that the LWMC had not paid them their three-billion-rupee payment in exchange for their services.

The LWMC says that they have settled all payments. They added that they also imposed a three percent fine on the companies for not holding up their end of the deal in terms of providing services to the city.

LWMC Director has said that the city will be clean in a couple of days. They have already gathered 16000 tonnes of trash from the city. According to him, an additional 5000 tonnes was collected on Christmas Day as part of their drive to clean up the area around various churches.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had also promised that Lahore will be a clean city but that aim still has not been achieved.
