Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Grand Health Alliance Chairman Dr Muhammad Irfan has said that lawyers attacked the hospital to gain support for the upcoming bar elections.
In an interview to Geo News, Dr Irfan said that the Young Lawyers Forum asked for help from fellow members of the legal fraternity to help them in their conflict with doctors of PIC in return for votes in the upcoming elections.
He alleged that a candidate named Rana Intizar, in order to strengthen his election campaign and get the support of young lawyers, attacked the hospital with his supporters.

On Wednesday, the Punjab Institute of Cardiology was stormed by an angry mob of lawyers. The lawyers attacked the hospital owing to an earlier dispute between PIC doctors and lawyers, whereby some lawyers had asked for free medicines from the hospital staff, which led to a fight in which the lawyers had been beaten up by doctors.
