KP Govt Holds PML-N Responsible For Delays In Peshawar BRT Project
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has blamed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the delays in the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project.

Reportedly, the KP government has held the PML-N responsible for the delay in BRT project, as according to it, the period from May 2014 and February 2016, was wasted as the then federal government led by PML-N had failed to stay true to its commitment of providing land of Railways for the project.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday had petitioned the Supreme Court to stop a Federal Investigation Agency probe into irregularities in the BRT project.

The probe was initiated in early December on the directives of the Peshawar High Court, with the FIA being ordered to submit the inquiry report in 45 days. Along with checking the infrastructure, the investigation is also meant to gauge if any kickbacks were received or corruption was carried out during the BRT project.
