Indian Actor Allegedly Fired From TV Show For Supporting Anti-CAA Protests

Bollywood actor Shushant Singh, who is known for his role on Savdhaan India, was let go because of his support for the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests.

He tweeted about his contract ending with the show.

In an interview with Indian Express he said that he was called by management of the show and told that his contract will be ending. According to him, if this cancellation of his contract was related to his support of the anti-CAA protests, then it is a small price to pay.

He continued by saying that he was disturbed by the way students were being treated and being called violent.

According to him, he sells his talent and not his conscience.

The actor is one of the very few who is speaking out against the CAA. Most young actors have voiced their support for the students protesting all across India while the older, more mainstream, ones have remained silent.
