Filmmaker Jami Moor had named Dawn CEO Hameed Haroon as his alleged rapist two days back, months after first alleging that he was raped by a media tycoon.
According to a report in Dawn, Hameed Haroon has issued a statement categorically rejecting the rape accusations. He has termed the story untrue and as having been fabricated at the insistence of those who wish to silence him and force the newspaper to support their repressive narrative.
He has further said that he would be initiating legal action to clear his name and reputation, and to safeguard the freedom of press by bringing to justice those responsible for these false and malicious allegations against him.
