Former Dar ul Amaan Superintendent Moves LHC Against Alleged Sexual Abuse Of Orphan Girls
Afshan Latif, former superintendent of Kashna Dar ul Amaan, petitioned the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday about her allegations of orphan girls in the shelter house being supplied to Punjab government ministers.

In a video last week, she had said that she had no other choice but to expose this heinous crime on social media. According to her, girls from the Dar ul Amaan were being misused to fulfill demands of the provincial ministers.

She had also accused the government of trying to cover up the crime by using the police to eliminate any evidence. A CCTV video uploaded on social media showed the police breaking in to the Dar ul Amman.

She also said that she was forced to step down because she had made the choice to speak out against this.

In light of this, the Minister for Social Welfare in Punjab Ajmal Cheema denied Afshan Latif's claims, terming them baseless. He said he will take this matter to the court.

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Usman Buzdar said that this matter will be investigated and till then the girls of Kashna will be safe under the Punjab Government’s care.

The LHC has formed a judicial commission to further investigate these claims and has called forth the District Commissioner and the Director of Dar ul Amaan.
