Outgoing Chief Justice Asif Khosa has said that a campaign was underway to malign him and the judiciary.
During the full court reference in his honour, Asif Khosa stated that he had not supported the special court verdict against former president General (r) Musharraf and that the media had misrepresented his stance on the issue.
He further stated that the additional attorney general had accused him of influencing the treason case, and emphasised that the allegations were baseless and incorrect.
Asif Khosa stated that he always did what he thought was right and the consequences never mattered to him.
He also quoted Fehmida Riaz’s poem, ‘Faiz Kehte’, which is about standing one’s ground without fearing the consequences.
