CDA Seals 13 Buildings In Bahria Town

The Capital Development Authority has sealed 13 buildings in property tycoon Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town in Islamabad.

The CDA has carried out an operation against violators of the authority’s Building and Zoning Regulations 2005 in Islamabad’s private housing societies in Zone II and V.

The operation was carried out by CDA’s Building Control Directorate and Enforcement Directorate.

Bahria Town has violated the law by constructing commercial buildings in residential zones, and both commercial and residential buildings in areas allocated for sports grounds.

The CDA has also destroyed around 275 illegal sale points in Sector I-10 and I-11.

Moreover, CDA has been yet unable to take back 510 kanals of public land illegally occupied for another one of Malik Riaz’s projects, Bahria Enclave.

Federal Minister Shehryar Afridi, while talking to media in front of Bahria Enclave, had earlier maintained that it was the first time in history that operations were being carried out against illegally occupied land.
