CDA Renders People Homeless In Islamabad, Again
Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has started another anti-encroachment drive in the city, which targeted a katchi abadi in sector G-7.
Friends, the home of Chaudhry James, a G-7 katchi abadi resident & tireless housing rights activist, recently got damaged in a CDA anti-encroachment operation. The whole family is freezing without a roof in winter. We are raising funds for repair, please DM if you wish to help. pic.twitter.com/JoUU3bI1JJ

The CDA is known to be carrying out such activities in the city in the name of ‘beautification’. A few days ago people took to Twitter to protest another such activity. Before that, the CDA had made news in its drive against kiosks (khokas) in the city.
Today, AC Koral, along with CDA Enforcement staff and ICTP, carried out anti-encroachment operation on Khana Bridge. Temporary encroachments were removed and hand carts confiscated. Violators were apprehended and FIRs lodged. CDA’s enforcement staff to be permanently stationed. pic.twitter.com/RiVTFbXfkh

The CDA initiated their anti-encroachment drive last year by targeting the I-11 katchi abadi, home to many afghan refugees and working class people in the city.
