CDA Gives Jamia Hafsa 15 Days To Remove Illegal Construction

The Capital Development Authority has given Madrassa Al-Hafsa (Jamia Hafsa) 15 days to remove its illegal encroachments on state-owned land.

The Madrassa Al-Hafsa is a women seminary affiliated with Lal Masjid in Islamabad, and is led by Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi.

In a letter to the Masjid Committee of Madrassa Al-Hafsa, the Capital Development Authority has notified the Madrassa of its violations of Islamabad Building Regulations 1963 and Islamabad Residential Sectors Zoning Regulations 2005.

The CDA has stated that the violations are due to the unauthorised and illegal construction of a madrassa building in the Children Park adjacent to Masjid Al-Falah.

It has directed to the Madrassah to remove the violations within 15 days, otherwise the authority would remove the illegal encroachments through force.

Naya Daur contacted Jamia Hafsa for its comments regarding the ultimatum given to the organisation. However, they refused to comment and stated they would talk about the issue following consultations with their legal team.
