Pakistan's batsman Babar Azam has reached the 6th position in the International Cricket Council rankings for Test batsmen.
The batsman has moved up from the 15th position and has entered the list of top ten batsmen in Test cricket for the first time.
On Sunday, Babar Azam had received loads of appreciation following his century in the second Test match against Sri Lanka in Karachi, in which Pakistan eventually emerged victorious. Pakistan’s victory turned out to be the first series victory on home ground.
The star batsman also holds the first place in the ICC T20 Batsmen rankings, which he has been on for the whole of 2019.
Babar Azam has eleven centuries to his name in ODIs, while his recent knock in Karachi has brought the number of his Test centuries to four.
Last month, Australian hitter Michael Hussey had said that Babar Azam could in the same conversation when talking about the best players in the world.
