Arooj Aurangzaib Dismisses Speculation About Being Fired Due To The Student March
Arooj Aurangzaib, activist and leader from the Students Solidarity March, took to social media to set the record straight about her professional life. Aurangzaib had gone viral on social media as one of the most prominent faces of the Student March this year, with her fiery renditions of Ramprasad Bismil’s revolutionary anti-colonial poetry and the now-famous leather jacket that she was wearing.
There had been speculation on social media that she may have been removed from her job because of her leading role in the student-led event this year.
Arooj Aurangzaib has now laid such discussions to rest by explaining that her disagreements at her former place of employment began well before the Student March.
She tweeted the following:
I was made to part ways with my job because there was no liberty to teach/learn what and how me and my students wanted to. This happened even before we started campaigning for the #StudentsSolidarityMarch. Unfortunately, Education system is hardly about learning/unlearning now.
